Royal Art Palliative Care
My name is John Allsopp I,m an Artist and Publisher and a Telecommunications Engineer. My art provides the solution for work as I am no longer able to work in Engineering due to health problems.
I set up WWW.Manorhousefineart.co.uk afew weeks ago, I am turning a hobby into a business, something I can do without the health problems interfering with my work, which is creating Highly realistic photo realism bespoke pieces of work which i have printed in the Giclee method, which incidentally is the best known way to produce copies from original artwork, my prints are difficult to distinguish from the original oil on canvas.
Four works form the basis of my first publication, a collection of portraits featuring members of the British Royal family. Money from the sale of my prints will be donated to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. Why i hear you say, well my father died with lung cancer and I thought of repaying this charity for the palliative care they gave to my father at the end of his life, and the comfort we as a family experienced during the passing of my late dad Stan!!.
My collection is unique, no other Artist has ever produced a collection like mine! they are limited in number, making them very rare, produced to the high standard required by members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, they carry their logo and International copyright symbol, assuring the customer that they are buying from a reputable source.Princess Diana print is signed by Lord Puttnam who was a personal friend of the late Princess, money from their sale will help with the £8000 week running cost of a Marie Curie Hospice.
Why Royal Family I hear you say, The Queen and Royalty symbolise Strength, Faith, and Leadership, human qua lites required by those suffering from Cancer, a terrible decease, would,nt you agree.

Advertising Costs
Advertising costs money and time, we all know the cost of money and its value when setting up a business. Time well use it wisely, the four hour week is a great book try reading it...
I am using my time to market my prints to every outlet which i can think about, news outlet that is...its cheaper and more personal, adverting in well established sunday supplements costs, differentiate between writing a good letter and the latter..and remember if at first you do not make the appropriate connection try again..then leave it if it does not work for you....try something else.

Royal portraits
It has been suggested by one or two copy writers that I may gain some publicity by donating a sum of money from my Giclee prints. I am interested in this idea and wonder if anyone has some charity in mind, there are a lot of charities out there but finding one that matches ones products is challenging...anyone got an idea about a particular cause connected with Royal family, I would love to hear your thoughts..

i have added recent commissions to my page with include "Pet portraits", many have written to ask if I am able to do this type of art so i have included them on my site. I can also create people portraits from a good clear photograph. Working from home allows me to keep the costs under control, the buyer saving on gallery fees etc.

Finding sales Agents
Starting a one man business you have to do everything, unless you can convince someone to work for you for nothing, which is in todays climate is a very difficult thing to achieve.
As an Engineer who worked on a particular type of electronic apparatus for some twenty odd years the senario above never happened, because there was always someone there who had that little bit of know how more than you, you asked the question and in next of no time you were up and running again, problem solved.
Now I find myself away from the sheltered environment of never being stuck to know what to do, starting a business is more than the initial idea. Business has many hats, production, sales, packaging, book work etc etc, what you do and when, unlike the job you had does not seem to follow the same logical steps, so you find like me you do things when time permits or when circumstances dictate. Now I have been painting for a long time, painting dogs and children and seascapes, landscapes and whatever at the time when it suited me, because I would fit the hobby around work.Work now is the hobby stood on its head, yes I have produced what I think the market would like based on a number of questions and research. I painted four members of the British Royal Family, Princess Diana, The Queen, Queen Mother and Prince William. Research has shown that the market was pointing towards the increase in memorabilia collecting, it still does, however sales need a boost.
Anyone reading this letter can help with the question how do i find partners to trade with, would be appreciated. Please have a look at my Portraits a www.manorhousefineart.co.uk. If you were running this Art and Publishing Company how would you solve the question in finding suitable trading partners or how would you explain how one directs more people to the website?
